SeniorCall: One-touch dialing for seniors, visually impaired, or for those with movement difficulties (for iPhone ONLY)
Why did I create this app?
After years of watching my father use an outdated flip phone, I decided to purchase him a new iPhone to have the ability to send him text messages, locate him should he get lost via Find My iPhone, and give him the ability to stay in touch with the world via a myriad of wonderful iPhone features and apps.
Unfortunately, I soon discovered his limited eyesight and some physical disabilities inhibiting finite movements prevented him from navigating through some menus like the phone menu in an efficient way without causing him some confusion.
I wanted to give him a quick, easy way to call me (his primary contact) if he needed without having to locate his eyeglasses or getting lost in various iPhone menus.
That was the reasoning behind SeniorCall. With SeniorCall, now my father can call me in two quick easy touches on his iPhone. One touch to open the app, and one touch on the large phone icon calls my number.
How does it work?
Upon first time the app loads simply type in the first name of the primary contact and the phone number of that contact and that info is stored locally within the app.
From this point forward, simply load the app, and press the large phone icon and your special someone is quickly calling you.
Features:
- Quickly change name and phone number of primary contact at any time
- Extra large icons and font size makes seeing and using the app easy for anyone with vision difficulties or difficulty with finite movements.
- Works on iPhone only
Tips:
- To make the SeniorCall icon appear on the bottom dock of your iPhone for easy access, hold your finger on the SeniorCall icon and drag to the dock at the bottom of your iPhone
